In late 1993 Fred himself started to release his library service both in floppy disk and CD-ROM format. His bi-monthly CDs were called Fresh Fish containing the latest submissions to the library in unpacked, directly startable form and as BBS ready lha archived versions. Additionally each CD contained latest developer material from Commodore Amiga and latest ports of open source software from the GNU or BSD community.
The latest submissions were organised in a subject tree similar to Aminet (which came up in 1992), but repeating the tree per submission month. As long as Fred still spread floppy disks (up to Fish disk 1000 in early 1994) the remaining space on each CD was filled up with Fish Disks.
